    "I wouldn't want to disgrace myself" - Owner of Alex Head Surf Store in response to riding a mini mal I rarely ever complain about places but the Surf Shop owners behaviour seemed to do a good job to convince to me. 07 Jan 14 - Mate rented a board, upon returning to the store he was the slightest bit wet, the owner was quiet rude and told him to get out of the shop. We didn't think too much off it at the time. The board was also $30 for 4 hrs. - At weirs surf shop it is $15 or so for half a day. 08 Jan 14 - Out surfing at Alex Head which is just out the front, swell was good! I was on my mini mal carving it up out the back when the owner of this store (which I didn't know until later) told me that I was catching too many waves and that I needed to share some waves. He was quiet rude and aggressive to me for about a minute in which he called me some nice names and had a dig at me for having a bigger board. I turned around and said why don't you get a mini mal to which he responded "I wouldn't want to disgrace myself" - Owner of Alex Head Surf Store in response to riding a mini mal I ended up paddling away from him. Kept an eye on him for the remainder of his surf sesh and he caught one wave, stacked a few and missed countless good sets. Not really the best attitude from a 50 yr old dude who owns a surf shop. I was really shocked at his behaviour which is not wanted out in the surf and especially from a surfboard shop owner! I really wouldnt be surprised if i get some abusive messages through facebook over this review. If you guys want a seriously awesome surf shop head over to Weirs Surfing Shop over at Cotton Tree. You will be looked after! I have been going there for years.
